The Monavie Challenge - Part 1

A friend of mine, and fellow real estate broker here on the Mississippi Coast, brought me out to lunch today to tell me about a new “opportunity”. For the purpose of this post, I am leaving his name out, but let me start by saying that he always has his hands into something. When I received the invitations to come by his house via email, informing me that it was “limited space” and he was only inviting his “closest acquaintances”, it did spark my interest.

I was unable to attend the meeting because of prior engagements, but he agreed to meet me for lunch that afternoon, before the meeting that evening. Needless to say, I was a little skeptical…

Lunch went well, we caught up on a few things, and then he showed me what he was getting to - Movavie, a unique blend of fruits and other “vitamins” (for lack of a better word at the moment), that would help me by spending roughly $40/bottle. He was in a hurry when he left the house and forgot to bring the bottle so I could taste it, however, about an hour later, he came by my office and shared a bottle with me.

I was teaching a training session at the time so he brought some in and shared with me and my new agent, whom I was teaching at the time. The juice had a somewhat bitter taste to it, almost like a strong grape, but was pleasant overall. My new agent enjoyed it as well but said she did not care for the aftertaste so much.

Now, of course, my friend pitched me on marketing this product as a distributor and encouraged me to get in before his meeting that evening in order to get some people under me almost instantly. I debated it for several hours and called to get set up about an hour before his meeting, although I did inform him that I would try the product personally, and check the legitimacy of his claims, and other claims I read online prior to making a full commitment to him. The claims my friend made were:

Monavie will help you focus better, give you more energy, and make you feel better all-around.

He further went on to tell me that:

Since I have been drinking Monavie as part of my regular diet, 2 ounces in the morning and 2 more in the evening, I have noticed that I have more energy, sleep better at night, and don’t seem to forget things as much.

Because this has so much of the nutrients your body needs, it helps “make you whole”…

Now those are some pretty strong claims for a fruit juice! I, being the smart-ass I am, asked if it would help me lose weight and stop smoking too. (I am not a big fellow but do have a few extra pounds but I do smoke a little over a pack a day.) His reply was:

It could help you lose weight because you should not crave the junk because your body will fill fulfilled. I guess it could help you with smoking because you will feel better. (at this point, he smiled and told me that I just needed to get in the right mindset but the juice is not going to get me to quit)

I think if he would have told me that the juice would get me to quit smoking, I would have told him no thanks because I would have known it was B.S. The other claims did make sense though so I agreed to try it for one month, drinking 2 ounces in the morning and two in the evening -and see what happens…

I have seen numerous other claims all around the Internet but most seem to be bogus or potentially psychosomatic in nature. I do plan on evaluating those claims as well. For the record, and for the purpose of fully documenting my progress (or lack thereof), I weigh 220 pounds, smoke, have trouble sleeping regularly, often have “brain-farts” (trouble remembering words etc), and my energy level is low, even with caffeine. I have no intention of changing my diet in any way or exercising in any way during the course of this experiment. My daily routine will remain the same except for adding 2 ounces of Monavie juice in the morning and evening as recommended.

How is your challenge going? Have you stopped smoking? Try EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques and hypnotherapy for the smoking if you did not stop

What helped me stop smoking with no withdrawels was classic acupuncture - one 30 minutes treatment.

One sideeffect though, it is hard for me to be with smokers today.

I have used EFT to get rid of some anxiety and now using it for removing the limits I set on myself. It works for me.

I am not really familiar with EFT. I did manage to check out the website you listed (Virginia) but did not have a lot of time to look thoroughly.

    Susanne,
I have actually been looking at the laser acupuncture as some friends told me about it. It seems to have pretty good results but have not been able to find anyone locally that does it. I was given a phone number by a friend but never got a response so I am not sure if it was a correct number or not.

I will definitely be looking into it more in the coming weeks, but I had to make sure that nothing changed in my daily routine for the purpose of truly analyzing the Monavie product.

Thank you both for your comments.

Any nutritional supplement or antioxidant-rich food/juice will give us health results if we give it time to get into our system.
The question is which product will deliver the best result to our unique “biotype”.

Mona Vie is a great product and I take it myself. The challenge here is not to rely on product “testimonies” because each person has a unique reaction to any health-related strategy.
