Domain Owners Make More Money

If you own your own domain name (or multiple as many of us do), and you live in English-speaking North America, you could start making more money off your domains as early as today and as late as next week.

Google just announced their Adsense for Domains program being rolled out to their publishers in the English speaking North American market with plans to extend it later.  For those of us who have been using Sedo for years - this is an AWESOME announcement. I know from personal experience that my domains with Sedo produce a lot of traffic and decent conversion rates, however, they only pay about 6 cents per click. the cost per action is way too low to make any serious money off of them.

For those of you who bought my old book a few years ago about buying expired domains and utilizing them for traffic, you may even want to consider using that information to use through the new Google Adsense for Domains program.

I feel that this was a very smart move by Google and will help increase the money you make off your sitting domains as well as potentially increase the cost per action (CPA) on other networks as they ultimately start fighting to retain their market share. It will be interesting to see what industry leaders do to maintain their income once this really starts going full swing. After all, who wouldn’t rather get 3-4 times the money off their domains?
